The exhibition posits various alternative programs and uses for malls passed their glory days. For example, Rishon’s late 1980’s Lev Ha-Ir Mall is rapidly deteriorating after attempts at renewal have failed. At the same time, students discovered that many vocational schools have been set up there.
The featured buildings were constructed along main roads, and most were planned by leading Israeli architects. These buildings did not become isolated architectural icons, however, but instead managed to become an integral part of a busy urban center.

The passion of the artists in the exhibition Here, Jaffa for the esthetics of the seen and heard is entangled in a moral debt to the history of the city of Jaffa. Here, Jaffa is attentive to twentieth-century events—to Jaffa’s evolution into a modern Palestinian city, to its destruction as such and to the continuous devastation it has suffered since 1948, when it was almost emptied of its inhabitants, who became refugees, and flooded with Jewish refugees.
The exhibition, “Moving Israel’s Coastal Highway,” zooms in where the Coastal Highway (also called Route 2) meets Jisr az-Zarqa, an Arab-Muslim town.
